Basic requirement

What do I need to view the webcasts?
You need a computer running a supported operating system, a supported web browser, the Silverlight Plug-In, and speakers. To get the Silverlight Plug-in, go to: http://www.microsoft.com/getsilverlight/

Is Silverlight free?
Yes, Microsoft has made the Silverlight browser plug-in freely available for all supported platforms and browsers.

What version of Silverlight will I need?
You will need to have Silverlight version 4 or above in order to received streaming video from the Council of the European Union Webcast website.

Why did you select Silverlight?

The Council of the European Union strives to provide as much of its content in all the constituent countries' languages. Silverlight currently provides the best multi-language support allowing for seamless switching between languages, providing you with the best experience possible. Adobe's latest version of OSMF now provides better multi-language support and we should have this available to you soon.
